When we went to the drawing board to figure out how we can enable 10 minute delivery for our end customers, we realised our partners would really need to step up their game to be able to manage their infrastructure and resources effectively and efficiently. In addition, we will have to provide them with the tools, technology and visibility to make it possible.
Yesterday, we felicitated some of these outstanding individuals who have invested their capital and energy behind building online-first grocery channels in local communities. We not only recognised the contribution that these individuals and their teams make to grofers but also invited their actual ground workers to facilitate them for wow-ing our customers with 10 minute delivery.
The best performing store is run by Anil Gangwa. Before joining us as a partner, Anil was engaged in property construction. Anil’s store employs over 15 people, from store managers to pickers and staff that make sure the products are kept in good stead for end customers. Apart from Anil, the two other top performers are Vineet Madan and Jasvinder Singh. Before becoming grofers partners, Vineet worked as a distributor for an MNC while Jasvinder was working at an international travel agency.
One of the key strategic advantages for us has been our ability to work in win-win scenarios with businesses looking to adapt to the world of online commerce. Our partners come from different backgrounds and incredibly diverse segments of the society. We are grateful for the experience they provide to our customers and hope that we can continue to work with them for a long time.
I was born in Delhi to a disadvantaged family. Later, my father left us when I was 15. He was a stonemason and with his departure, I couldn’t concentrate on my studies. I ended up flunking my 12th exams.
I was born and brought up in Chandigarh. Blessed with a flawless childhood, I enjoyed a lovely family, the finest of education and a sound social life. In school, I excelled in studies as well as extracurricular activities.
Before I share my story, I want us to remember that India largely resides in its villages and towns. There are a lot of people in our country who have a lot of potential, but they seldom get the opportunity to prove their worth.
