Pavitra Agarwal has been with us for over six summers now. She has been an integral part of the business side of things at grofers.
Here, she shares her thoughts on what clicks for her working with the most loved grocery shopping platform in India and why grofers is the place to be for those who want to make a lasting difference in this ecosystem.
What do you love the most about your job?
Strong sense of belief that the founders and leadership team has put in me throughout the last 6 years. The same sense of belief in the team members percolates down at all levels. Every individual at grofers is a decision-maker and is given freedom and ownership for the decisions taken by them

How does grofers empower you to master your skills?
grofers has always created a strong environment of faith and belief that ‘I am or can become the master of the skills that I require to get the job done’. This creates a virtuous cycle of self-belief and confidence, leading to a faster learning curve
Being a generalist, I need to gather learnings of different functions. Sometimes I need to wear the hat of the operations manager or the product manager, sometimes I work heavily on the demand or marketing side. My role requires dynamic shifts in my capacity. In these situations, whenever I am short on the skillset, I reach out and ask for help or mentorship from the smart set of peers at grofers. This unblocks me and makes me feel empowered and capable to learn anything very fast
How does grofers give you the autonomy to make decisions?
From day 1, the founders started throwing difficult challenges at me with complete autonomy and belief. I have built the expertise to deliver on the go. I have made a lot of mistakes in the process, however, here I have learnt to be fearless and not stop myself from taking the next set of bold decisions
At grofers, we define OKRs (Objectives and Key results) for the company and individuals in a way such that we are aware of the goals that we need to achieve along with clarity on the projects to be delivered. This system gives me the clarity of ownership and responsibility towards the org and hence holds me accountable to decide fast
What do you love about the way of working at grofers?
The open mindset of our leaders makes the work environment very encouraging. The leaders look at hiring people who are not just like them but can come and challenge their thought process. A good number of my peers have either grown at a fast pace and are now in leadership positions within grofers or have become independent entrepreneurs.
How does this all combine for you to have passion for what you do?
We are creating solutions to the problems that will grow further, they will not be forgotten after a month or a year. This is because we focus on sustainable tech-driven solutions. Also, we are building the path to solve for best quality grocery for 100 mil Indian households. This is crazy and ambitious!
Chinthakunta Sumanth Kumar Reddy is an SDE 3 at Blinkit. He joined us in March 2021 and has since helped us build a resilient application platform at Blinkit.
Jay Dihenkar is a Staff Engineer at Blinkit. He joined us in December 2020 and has helped different teams manage and streamline their build and release processes.
Avi Singh Raghuwanshi, works as an Associate Product Manager (APM) at Blinkit. He joined us on our instant delivery journey in July 2022. He previously worked on upselling and cross selling through product listing pages during his first two months.
