In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of uncooked wild rice with 2 cups of water.

Cook the rice until tender, then set aside.

Fry 900 grams of bacon until crisp.

Drain the bacon, reserving 5 tablespoons of grease, and crumble the bacon. Set aside.

In the reserved bacon grease, fry 1/2 cup chopped onion, 1/2 cup chopped celery, and 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper.

Cook until the onions are translucent.

Transfer the cooked vegetables, rice, and crumbled bacon to a 5-quart pan.

Stir in 1 can of condensed cream of mushroom soup, 1 can of condensed cream of chicken soup, 2 cans of chicken broth, and 3 1/2 cups of water.

Simmer the mixture over medium heat for one hour to blend all the flavors.
