Thatte Idli is a popular South Indian dish, known for its unique flat shape and soft texture. It is a delightful breakfast option that is not only delicious but also quite filling. Ingredients: Idli rice, Urad dal, Cooking oil, Sambhar, Coconut chutney, Salt

Soak 250 grams of idli rice and 75 grams of urad dal separately in water for about 4-5 hours.

After soaking, grind the rice and urad dal separately into a smooth paste. Mix them together in a large bowl.

Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the mixture and stir well. Cover the bowl and let it ferment overnight.

The next morning, the batter will be ready. Stir it well before use.

Grease the thatte idli plates with a little oil. Pour the batter into the plates, filling them only halfway.

Steam the idlis in a steamer for about 10-15 minutes on medium flame.

Once done, remove the idlis from the steamer and let them cool for a few minutes before removing them from the plates.

Serve the thatte idli hot with coconut chutney or sambar.
