Heat 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a pot over medium heat.

Add 2 teaspoons of garlic paste and 1 teaspoon of minced ginger root, cook and stir for about 1 minute.

Stir in 1 teaspoon of round minced red chile pepper, 1/2 teaspoon of ground cumin, and salt to taste.

Mix in 1/4 cup of yogurt.

Add 1 cut broiler fryer chicken and 1 chopped green bell pepper to the pot.

Cover the pot and simmer over low heat until the oil separates and chicken is mostly cooked, about 20 to 30 minutes.

Add 4 medium peeled and cut potatoes to the pot, and add a little water if necessary.

Cook on low heat until potatoes are tender, about 20 minutes more.

Garnish with 1 tablespoon of chopped cilantro and serve.
