Choose 2 large, ripe pomegranates and wash them thoroughly under running water.
Cut the pomegranates into halves and remove the seeds carefully, ensuring that the white membrane is separated from the seeds.
Place the seeds in a blender and blend them for about 30 seconds to extract the juice.
Place a fine mesh strainer over a bowl and pour the blended seeds through the strainer. Press the seeds using the back of a spoon to extract as much juice as possible.
Discard the remaining seeds and pour the pomegranate juice into a glass.
If desired, add a teaspoon of sugar or honey to sweeten the juice and stir well.
Serve the pomegranate juice chilled or over ice.
