In a large bowl, whisk together:

3 crushed garlic cloves

3 tablespoons of ground paprika

2 tablespoons of olive oil

1 tablespoon of hot chile paste

Add 1 cut chicken to the mixture:

Toss to evenly coat the chicken pieces

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap

Marinate in the refrigerator for 3 hours

Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat

Lightly oil the grate

Prepare the chicken for grilling:

Remove chicken from the bowl and transfer to a plate or baking sheet lined with paper towels

Pat chicken pieces dry with more paper towels

Grill the chicken:

Place chicken skin-side down on the preheated grill

Grill for 4 minutes with the grill lid closed

Turn chicken and grill with lid closed until well-browned and meat is no longer pink in the center (about 6 minutes)

Check the temperature with an instant-read thermometer (it should read 180°F or 82°C in the thickest part of the thigh)
