In a food processor, blend half of the large sliced onion with 2 chopped garlic cloves, 1 inch ginger, 2 seeded green chilies, 2 teaspoons ground cumin, and 2 teaspoons ground coriander.
Add a little water to make a thin paste.
In a pan, heat 3 tablespoons of oil and fry the remaining sliced onion until golden. Remove the onions and set aside.
Add the spice mixture to the pan and cook over low heat for 3 minutes.
Add 450 grams of okra, juice of 1 lemon, and 150 ml of water to the pan. Simmer until the okra is tender.
Serve the dish garnished with the fried onion.
