Wash and peel 1 kg of potatoes, then cut them into equal-sized pieces.

In a large pot, add the potatoes and enough water to cover them. Add a pinch of salt and bring the water to a boil.

Cook the potatoes for 15-20 minutes or until they are tender when pierced with a fork. Drain the water and let the potatoes cool for a few minutes.

In a separate pan, heat 100 ml of milk and 50 grams of butter until the butter is melted and the mixture is warm.

Use a potato masher or a fork to mash the potatoes in the pot until they reach a smooth consistency.

Gradually add the warm milk and butter mixture to the mashed potatoes, stirring continuously until the desired consistency is achieved.

Season with salt and pepper to taste. Optionally, you can also add a pinch of nutmeg or other herbs and spices for added flavor.
