Boil 4-5 cups of water in a deep pan. Once the water starts boiling, add 4 hot dog sausages (chicken, pork, or beef) and let them cook for 5-7 minutes until they are heated through. Remove the sausages from the water and set them aside.
Preheat a griddle or tawa on medium heat. Slice 4 hot dog buns lengthwise, without cutting them all the way through. Lightly butter the insides of the buns and place them on the griddle, cut side down. Toast the buns for 1-2 minutes until they are slightly crispy and golden brown.
Place a cooked sausage in each toasted bun. Add your choice of toppings such as chopped onions, tomatoes, and grated cheese.
Drizzle your preferred sauces like mustard, ketchup, and mayonnaise over the toppings. Serve the hot dogs immediately.
