Wash 500 grams of French beans and trim the ends. Steam or boil the beans for 3-4 minutes until they are tender but still crisp. Drain and set aside.
In a large pan, heat 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add 1/4 cup of sliced almonds and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until they are golden brown. Remove the almonds from the pan and set aside.
In the same pan, add 1 tablespoon of butter and 2 cloves of minced garlic. Cook for 1 minute until the garlic is fragrant.
Add the cooked French beans to the pan and toss to coat them in the garlic butter. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the beans are heated through.
Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Remove from heat and sprinkle the toasted almonds over the beans. Serve immediately.
