Focaccia With Goat Cheese And Caramelized Onions

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

Take 500 grams of store-bought focaccia bread and place it on the prepared baking tray.

In a pan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add 2 thinly sliced large onions and cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are soft and caramelized. Add a pinch of salt and 1 teaspoon of sugar to enhance the caramelization process.

Spread 200 grams of goat cheese evenly over the surface of the focaccia bread.

Top the goat cheese layer with the caramelized onions, spreading them evenly.

Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of dried rosemary and a pinch of black pepper over the onions.

Bake the focaccia in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the edges of the bread are golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
