Take 200 grams of grated coconut (fresh or desiccated) and set aside a small portion for garnishing later.

In a non-stick pan, heat 1 cup (250 ml) of milk on medium flame. Add 1 cup (200 grams) of sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves completely.

Add the grated coconut to the milk and sugar mixture. Mix well and cook on low flame for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

Once the mixture thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan, turn off the heat and let it cool down for a few minutes.

Grease your palms with a little ghee or oil. Take a small portion of the mixture and shape it into a round ladoo. Repeat this process until all the mixture is used up.

Roll each ladoo in the reserved grated coconut to coat them evenly. Allow the coconut ladoos to cool completely before serving.
