Choose 4-5 fresh, ripe apples (preferably a mix of sweet and tart varieties like Red Delicious and Granny Smith). Wash and peel them.
Cut the apples into small pieces, removing the core and seeds.
In a blender or juicer, add the apple pieces and blend until smooth. If using a blender, you may need to add a little water (about 50-100 ml) to help with blending.
Place a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth over a large bowl and pour the blended apple mixture through it. Press the pulp with a spoon to extract as much juice as possible.
If desired, add sugar or honey (about 1-2 tablespoons) to sweeten the juice. Stir well to dissolve.
Pour the apple juice into a serving glass and add ice cubes if you prefer it chilled. Serve immediately.
