Take 4 ripe bananas, peel them and cut into small pieces. Freeze the banana pieces for at least 2 hours or until they are completely frozen.
Once the bananas are frozen, put them in a blender or food processor. Blend until the mixture is creamy and smooth. You might need to pause and scrape down the sides of the blender a few times.
For a basic banana ice cream, the mixture can be served immediately for a soft-serve consistency. If you prefer harder ice cream, transfer the mixture to an airtight container and freeze for at least 2 hours.
For added flavour, you can mix in 2 tablespoons of honey or vanilla extract before freezing. You can also add other ingredients like chocolate chips, nuts, or fruits after the bananas have been blended.
