Indonesian Chicken Satay is a delicious dish where succulent pieces of chicken are marinated in a mix of spices and then grilled to perfection. Start by cutting 250 grams of boneless chicken into small pieces.

In a bowl, mix together 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1/2 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, 1 clove of minced garlic, and 1/2 teaspoon of freshly grated ginger. Add the chicken pieces to this marinade and let it sit for at least 2 hours.

While the chicken is marinating, prepare the peanut sauce. In a pan, heat 1/2 tablespoon of oil and sauté 1/2 finely chopped onion until it turns golden brown. Add 1 clove of minced garlic and sauté for another minute.

Add 1/2 cup of peanut butter, 1/2 cup of coconut milk, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar to the pan. Stir well and cook on low heat until the sauce thickens.

Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto skewers and grill them on medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are fully cooked. Make sure to turn the skewers occasionally to ensure even cooking.

Serve the grilled chicken skewers with the prepared peanut sauce for your romantic dinner.
