Start by preparing the tart shells. Mix 200 grams of maida (all-purpose flour), 100 grams of butter, and 50 grams of powdered sugar. Knead it into a dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Roll out the dough and cut it into circles. Press these circles into tart moulds and prick them with a fork to prevent puffing. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
While the tart shells are cooling, prepare the filling. Hull and slice 500 grams of fresh strawberries.
In a pan, heat 100 grams of sugar with 50 ml of water until it forms a syrup. Add the sliced strawberries and cook for 5-7 minutes until they are soft.
Fill the cooled tart shells with the strawberry filling and refrigerate for an hour before serving.
