Soak 100 grams of poppy seeds in water for 2-3 hours.

Drain the water and grind the poppy seeds into a fine paste.

Add 2 finely chopped green chillies, a small chopped onion, and salt to taste to the poppy seed paste. Mix well.

Heat oil in a pan for deep frying.

Take small portions of the mixture, shape them into small flat discs and drop them into the hot oil.

Fry the fritters on medium heat until they turn golden brown.

Remove the fritters from the oil and drain them on a paper towel to remove excess oil.

Serve hot with a side of ketchup or chutney.
