Boil 500 grams of penne pasta in a large pot of salted water until it is al dente. Drain the pasta and set it aside.
In a mixer grinder, add 2 cups of fresh basil leaves, 3 cloves of garlic, 50 grams of pine nuts, 1/2 cup of grated parmesan cheese, salt to taste, and 1/2 cup of olive oil. Grind these ingredients until they form a smooth paste. This is your pesto sauce.
In a large pan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the cooked penne pasta and the prepared pesto sauce. Mix well until the pasta is well coated with the sauce.
Serve the Penne with Pesto Sauce hot, garnished with some more grated parmesan cheese and a few basil leaves.
