Rinse 500 grams of green beans and cut them into 1-inch pieces.
Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan over medium heat. Add 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds and let them splutter.
Add 1 finely chopped onion to the pan and sauté until it turns golden brown.
Add 1 tablespoon of ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute until the raw smell goes away.
Add 2 chopped tomatoes, 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon of red chilli powder, 1 teaspoon of coriander powder, and salt to taste. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and the spices are well blended.
Add the chopped green beans to the pan and mix well. Cover the pan and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beans are cooked and the flavours are well absorbed.
Finally, add 1 teaspoon of garam masala and mix well. Cook for another 2 minutes and then turn off the heat.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
