Cinnamon Rolls with Orange Zest are a delightful twist on the classic cinnamon roll. The addition of orange zest adds a refreshing citrusy note to the sweet and spicy cinnamon filling, making it a perfect treat for breakfast or dessert. In a large bowl, combine 500 grams of all-purpose flour, 50 grams of sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 2 teaspoons of instant yeast. Mix well.

Warm 250 ml of milk and 75 grams of butter until the butter is just melted. Add this to the flour mixture along with 1 egg and mix until a dough forms.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

For the filling, mix 200 grams of brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of cinnamon, and the zest of 1 orange in a bowl.

Once the dough has risen, roll it out into a rectangle. Spread the filling evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other, and cut into 12 equal pieces.

Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

While the rolls are baking, prepare the glaze by mixing 200 grams of powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons of orange juice, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls before serving.
