Mousse Cake
Mousse cake is a delightful and airy dessert that combines the richness of a cake with the lightness of a mousse, making it a perfect treat for any occasion.

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease and line a 20 cm round cake tin with parchment paper.

Prepare the cake base by mixing 100 grams of all-purpose flour, 100 grams of sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder, and a pinch of salt in a bowl.

In another bowl, whisk 2 eggs, 50 ml of vegetable oil, and 50 ml of milk. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.

Pour the cake batter into the prepared tin and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely.

For the mousse, melt 200 grams of chocolate in a double boiler or microwave. Allow it to cool slightly.

In a separate bowl, whip 300 ml of heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold the melted chocolate into the whipped cream until well combined.

Place the cooled cake on a serving plate and spread a thin layer of the chocolate mousse on top. Refrigerate for 15 minutes to set.

Spread the remaining mousse evenly over the cake, covering the sides as well. Refrigerate the cake for at least 4 hours or overnight to set the mousse.

Before serving, garnish the mousse cake with chocolate shavings or fresh fruits, if desired.
