Boil 500 ml of water in a saucepan. Once it reaches a rolling boil, remove from heat.
Add 2 teaspoons of tea leaves or 2 tea bags to the hot water. Let it steep for 3-4 minutes.
Strain the tea into a heat-resistant pitcher or container, discarding the tea leaves or tea bags.
Add 4 tablespoons of sugar to the hot tea and stir until the sugar dissolves completely. You can adjust the sugar according to your taste.
Squeeze the juice of 2 medium-sized lemons into the tea and mix well.
Allow the tea to cool down to room temperature. Once cooled, refrigerate it for at least 1 hour.
To serve, fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the chilled lemon ice tea over the ice. Garnish with a lemon wedge or a sprig of mint, if desired.
