Urad Dal Halwa
Urad Dal Halwa is a rich and delicious Indian dessert made from split black gram (urad dal) and ghee, flavored with cardamom and garnished with nuts. It's perfect for festive occasions and celebrations. Ingredients: Ghee, Sugar, Cardamom powder, Urad dal, Kishmish, Almonds, Cashews

Wash and soak 1 cup of urad dal (split black gram) in water for 4-5 hours.

Drain the water and grind the soaked urad dal into a smooth paste using a little water if required.

In a heavy-bottomed pan, heat 1 cup of ghee on medium flame.

Add the urad dal paste to the ghee and cook on low flame, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.

Cook the mixture until it turns golden brown and the ghee starts to separate from the sides of the pan.

In another pan, heat 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water to make a sugar syrup. Cook until the sugar dissolves completely.

Add the sugar syrup to the cooked urad dal mixture and mix well.

Cook the mixture on low flame until it thickens and reaches a halwa-like consistency.

Add 1/2 teaspoon of cardamom powder and mix well.

Garnish the halwa with chopped almonds, cashews, and raisins.

Serve the urad dal halwa warm or at room temperature.
