Cook 1 cup of white rice according to packet directions.
Drain the rice of any excess water.
Add 1 can of condensed milk to the rice.
Rinse the milk can with about 1/3 cup of boiling water and add it to the rice.
Cook the mixture on low heat for a few minutes until it becomes thick and creamy.
If using slivered saffron, add it to the mixture along with the milk.
Cook for one or two minutes more, stirring occasionally.
