Apply dots of foundation all over the face and neck and then using your fingertips/makeup sponge/a brush blend, blend, blend in a pressing-in motion!
Wait for a couple of minutes and build your coverage by applying another thin layer wherever needed.
You could also use a darker/lighter shade for contouring/highlighting.
